The link below contains a summary of what I recently found interesting and very helpful in a group of 14 books spanning an eclectic range of historical topics. Each of them contains wonderful food for thought. Other than one (Open Veins of Latin America) – they each were written very recently (most within the last five to six years); and cut against the grain of what I had been taught. In most cases they have significantly broadened what I know about their specific topics.
